conveniat27 - WE ARE CEVI

In 2009, the first and so far only national Cevi Switzerland camp took place in the Jura. Almost 4000 young people from all over Switzerland came together to celebrate the different facets of Cevi and to have a great time together. In addition to lasting memories, many friendships were forged across all parts of the country, the national identity of Cevi was strengthened and the fundamental social and Christian values were cultivated.

What are the goals of conveniat27?

With the motto ‘We are CEVI!’, a young dynamic team from all over Switzerland has set out to offer a new generation of Cevians a wonderful experience and to demonstrate the importance of Cevi as a whole in all its facets for society. The national identity of Cevi Switzerland has room for all people who feel committed to the social idea of the movement. We want to demonstrate this with the second national camp, conveniat27. The camp will take place in 2027 and we are expecting around 4,000 participants, hundreds of helpers and many leaders who will take responsibility for offering children and young people a lasting and unique experience despite their young age.

What is the schedule for conveniat27?

The last Conveniat took place 14 years ago and left its mark on an entire generation. It's now time for a new edition! A team from all over Switzerland has been in the brainstorming and planning phase since 2022. At Konekta 2024, the Conveniat project team received a mandate from the Movement Conference to organise a major national camp in summer 2027. Furthermore, a ‘Relations’ team is to be set up with representatives from all regional associations to ensure a secure and efficient flow of information from the project team to the departments. A mentoring team will also be set up to provide technical advice to the project team and work closely with the Cevi Switzerland board. Finally, an association will be founded as a legal entity to safeguard the project and Cevi Switzerland.

In a retreat at the beginning of November 2024, the Conveniat project team and the President of Cevi Switzerland met for four days at Cevi Haus Alpenblick to discuss the further development of the Conveniat, draw up a timetable with milestones beyond the camp and establish a new departmental structure.

The goal of realising what is probably the largest Cevi camp in Switzerland in 2027 remains unchanged. To achieve this, we are dependent on the support of Cevi Switzerland, the regional associations and the local groups. However, cantonal, national and civil partners as well as other youth organisations and international guests will also play a role in our planning. Ultimately, we want to create an overall positive experience and therefore accept this challenge with broad support.
